My Momma

One thing I have really noticed is when you go all the way around the world, things do not stop happening back home. One of my best friends and her family are moving to Joplin. My second oldest sister got a new job in Des Moines. My dad is making some big decisions about his job. My brother decided to store some food where his wisdom teeth were and make it infected. Nichole is going to spend a couple weeks in Chicago in the near future. My step dad has so much going on with his family medically. MY MOM IS COMING TO TAIWAN.

This really is huge. My mom has never flown before. She is really nervous about that. What a blessing to me, the Home of God's Love, and to her. This was such a big decision for her because of financial reasons, timing, and emotions. Dave has told me since the beginning of this trip, that he wanted to work extra to get my mom to come here. He knew that it is what she needed. Thank you, Dave.

She made the decision and purchased the tickets. I found out today that a bunch of her co-workers took up a donation for her and were able to cover more than half of her airfare. WOW. God is so good. This proves that when you step out in faith, remove yourself from your comfort zones, and do things you know you need to do even though you are scared..our mighty God will bless you in ways you can never imagine. This is my thank you to each and every one of you who have encouraged my mother. Dave, my brother and sisters, Holly Toney, ALL of you at Bailey Park, my grandparents...everyone. Thank you so much. I cried when I heard that my mom would be able to share this with me. It will be so good for her to experience another country..another world. It will be great for her to get a REAL taste of what I have been up to and all that I have learned. AH. I cannot be happier.

Here is the thing about Mrs. Annette Latcham. She has always put people before herself. She sits and watches tv for maybe 30 minutes a week. She takes pride in her cleanliness and organization. She spends most of her time encouraging other people and helping someone in someway. She has this lack of self esteem because of her amount of schooling. I think she is ridiculous. She is gorgeous inside and out. She has more common sense than anyone I know. I have the most respect for my mom. However, being here has made me sad. I am sad about the way I have treated her in the past and all the different ways I have hurt her. I am sorry that I pushed her over her limits and treated her like trash. I am sorry that she had to sit back wondering what in the world she was gonna do while she watched me hurt myself. In a way, this is an apology to you, Mom. I planned on telling you all of this in person but I want everyone to know how wonderful you really are and how truly appreciative I am that you get to come here with me.

Your life will truly be changed because of this. I am sure of it. The lives of those around will be changed because of it. It means so much to me that you get to come here Momma. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported for me through prayers and finances. I am just now starting to grasp how many people are watching while I am here. Thank you to everyone who has been there for my momma. She may be the most amazing lady you ever come into contact with.

Mom, I am counting the days until you get here. You can do this. No second thoughts. I am praying so hard for you and for all of those behind us. We can do this Momma. I love you so much! <3

  2. What a wonderful tribute to your mother. She has obviously touched the lives of others who have helped her come to Taiwan AND your description of her is beautiful! When is she coming and how long will she be able to stay?
